Star Chef Brunch at Bar Brera
Michelin-starred chef Andrea Casali will create “The Kiss of Brera”, inspired by Hayez’s painting.
Milan, September 2025 – Art on the plate and the plate within art with The Kiss of Brera, the new dish created by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Casali for Bar Brera, inspired by the famous painting by Francesco Hayez, displayed at the Pinacoteca. The experience is further enriched by the sculptural expression of the students from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, who interpret food through art, and by an original performance that tells the story of a suspended encounter between strength and lightness—an art born from the desire to overcome limits, where the body dances not on the ground, but within the very idea of freedom.
The appointment with the star chef brunch and Chef Casali is set for Sunday, September 28 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Bar Brera, Via Brera 23, Milan. The historic Milanese venue will celebrate art in all its forms: a tribute to the history and expressive soul of one of the most symbolic places in the city, long a crossroads of creativity and beauty. The event, organized to mark the inauguration of Bar Brera’s new kitchen and thanks to the collaboration with SanPellegrino and Michelin-starred chef Andrea Casali, will feature a tasting menu, available by reservation only.
Andrea Casali, a young and talented chef from Como with Sicilian roots, represents one of the most promising figures in the Italian culinary scene. After working with renowned names such as Enrico Crippa and I Tigli in Theoria, he now successfully leads the restaurant Kitchen within the Sheraton Lake Como Hotel, pursuing a cuisine that blends tradition and innovation.
A special occasion where, once again, students from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts will be involved thanks to the partnership with Bar Brera. The students themselves have created and designed two original, personalized artworks that will be presented to Chef Casali and SanPellegrino. Both students will be awarded a Bar Brera gift card worth €500.
The audience will also be immersed in a special performance: a silent dialogue between body and air, a captivating moment combining movement, balance, and art, scheduled during the presentation of the project on Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 AM at the Room 38 / Theatre of the Brera Academy.
The Bar Brera, a historic venue located at Via Brera 23, founded in the late 19th century as a meeting place for intellectuals and creatives, still represents today a cultural crossroads, nestled between the charm of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Brera Art Gallery.
